love

You can find it scratched into an old railing. Or in a big city surrounded by the sea.
In the big and the little.
Or in this week's drawing challenge hosted by Rachel who has a lovely heart and blog bursting with it.
Much love
xx

hand

I am quite late with last week's drawing challenge post, hosted by Nadine.
These hand prints are Gigi's when she was 4.
And her art work has soared ever since.
This week she painted this in the style of Joy Hester.
One of my favourite Australian artists. It makes my heart glad to know that they are teaching students about this passionate, bold and until recent times little known female artist.
I posted about her here too....

pigeon love

This gorgeous piece of art has flown all the way from the Netherlands.
From Patrice's house and heart to mine.
Thank you so much! I am so touched. These photos don't do it justice.
It is so beautifully made from paper and wire and the paint is exquisite.
I loved it when I saw it here.
It is gifts like these that make the other people in our sweet blog world very real indeed. x

mail

It always feels so special to receive things by post.
Especially these cyber-days.
This week I got postcards from Tokyo, for a friend's exhibition.
And also this mysterious package on my doorstep from the Netherlands!!
So exciting. Come back tomorrow to see what wonderful gift is inside...

lemon cake

"You have filled my tea with lumps of sugar, and though I asked most distinctly for bread and butter, you have given me cake. I am known for the gentleness of my disposition, and the extraordinary sweetness of my nature, but I warn you, Miss Cardew, you may go too far."
Oscar Wilde (The Importance of Being Earnest)

These scones were made even better by this view.
I do love scones, as seen here and here and also here!
These were made with cream and lemonade.

Following on from yesterday's post.
This beautiful place is like being in a painting.

away

I have been away. again.
To the snowy mountains.
In the winter we have to drive 6 hours to get to the snow.
This is the way. No snow yet.
I could watch this landscape rush by all day.

fish

The drawing challenge this week is hosted by Elisabeth the Adventurer
I wanted to do more with 'fish'. And more with 'bird' and 'paper doll' too.
